Summer Slang exudes "the feel" of the season with a group exhibition showcasing K Contemporary’s dynamic program with a vibrant array of works by talents like Anne von Freyburg, Mychaelyn Michalec, Daisy Patton, Angel Ricardo Ricardo Rios, Kevin Sloan, Francisco Souto, Nina Tichava, Matt Tripodi, Kaitlyn Tucek, Taylor Anton White, and Kristopher Wright alongside other gallery artists.
Their curated pieces encapsulate the essence of summer, inviting viewers into a world of sun-kissed skies and warm breezes through a palette of vivid hues, lively depictions, and a hint of wistful nostalgia. Anne von Freyburg’s textile painting "I Want Candy" evokes the tangy sweetness of pink lemonade, while Matt Tripody’s "No One Hurt" transports us back to childhood evenings spent enthralled by TV race nights. Taylor Anton White’s “Spritzer Bottle” and Francisco Souto's delicately wilting sunflowers reference the season’s soaring temperatures.
Nature's embrace is another recurring theme, with Kaitlyn Tucek's dreamy coastal scenes, Angel Ricardo Ricardo Rios’ and Daisy Patton's verdant gardens, and Kevin Sloan's portrayal of a monumental heron in lush woodlands, paying homage to summertime beauty and tranquility.
